Existing House
The existing house is a large cavity masonry property approximately 30 years old. Within the existing house the client was unhappy with both the size and slightly gloomy aspect of the existing kitchen. He felt that this was out of proportion with the rest of the house and wanted a kitchen with an open plan feel. The brief from the client, therefore, was to create a sunroom extension to the kitchen with a new garage to the front of the property.
Design Proposals
Our design proposals presented to the client comprised of a new extension to the rear of the property with a large sky light with corner glazed doors to the West. The existing kitchen window to the rear of the property was to be removed in order to provide a large opening between the existing kitchen and new sunroom. This allowed the kitchen to be extended into the sunroom creating a much larger kitchen and an open plan living space.
A new utility room was proposed to the rear of the sunroom with a garage opening out to the front of the property. The design has both planning and warrant permissions in place but has yet to progress to site.
