Peter is a talented, enthusiastic young architect who has gained a broad range of experience in a short space of time. Since graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art he has worked in two very different architectural practices.
Peter started his career with Pask & Pask in Newport on Tay, a small office with a strong commitment to design quality. He then moved to Keppie Design in Perth, a large commercial practice gaining further valuable experience prior to co-founding archid in 2006.
At Pask & Pask Peter worked on a wide range of projects from domestic alterations to bars, night clubs, shops and restaurants, mainly for local individuals, businesses and developers.
When Peter moved to Keppie Design he was exposed to a much larger, highly commercial organisation which concentrated on work for large corporate organisations such as the NHS, Local Authorities and other large organisations.
As a job runner for Keppie Design; Peter was expected to manage teams of up to ten designers and technologists as well as coordinating the production output large teams of consultants. At Keppie, Peter worked on various PPP bids for schools and hospitals and led a team for the construction of a small PPP hospital in Stonehouse, North Lanarkshire. The demanding programmes experienced have taught Peter excellent organisation skills and an ability to deal with many different types of design contracts including PPP.
It is these two contrasting experiences that have formed Peter’s ambition to work somewhere that he can draw on the strengths of both former employers in providing quality in design and management to archid’s clients.
