Michael Dix is an experienced Interior Designer who worked for 7 years with leading Architecture practice – Nicoll Russell Studios after graduating from Duncan of Jordonstone College of Art.
Throughout his time at Nicoll Russell Studios he furthered his knowledge through a high turnover of varied projects. Part of the training at Nicoll Russell was to instil within its designers the dictum that every project even a dormer extension should be well designed. Michael’s particular area of expertise lies within the commercial and leisure sector, working on over 40 bars, restaurants, nightclubs and hotels whilst at Nicoll Russell.
Michael has an ability to visualise and communicate every part of a design to a client utilising various techniques from sketches to complex 3D computer renderings. These techniques are especially useful when designing bars and restaurants offering clients a comprehensive service from the design of graphics to lighting.
Michael is a founding member of archid and since starting the studio with Peter Gunning has worked on some 60 projects ranging from extensions to large new-build restaurants.
Above all else, Michael is a passionate, inspirational designer who has the proven ability to effectively engage and motivate potential and existing clients.
